Patiala: Six employees of an immigration firm were initially booked by the police here after they got involved in a clash with a local resident, Inderjit Singh of Nawanshahr, who fired in air near Leela Bhawan Chowk in the city. Later, both parties reached a compromise.
The incident took place just opposite the residence of Patiala DC and SSP. The complainant, who had opened fire against the employees of the immigration firm following some dispute over money, claimed that the firm had promised him visa for Canada, for which they took Rs 5.5 lakh from him. He told the police that as he was cheated and the firm gave him a cheque that got bounced, following which he reached the office of the immigration firm in Leela Bhawan.TNN
