Real Madrid expect Toni Kroos to join Manchester United: Jose Mourinho bid imminent

REAL MADRID expect Toni Kroos to join Manchester United with Jose Mourinho set to bid for the Germany international this month, according to reports.

Real Madrid expect to lose Toni Kroos to Manchester United

Manchester United have been tipped to sign Kroos from Real Madrid with the La Liga giants in need of cash.

Real will bid for PSG star Neymar at the end of the season with the club determined to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.

Reports have claimed Madrid are happy to let Kroos if it means they can afford Neymar, who is expected to cost beyond the £200million PSG paid for him in the summer.

And Spanish outlet Don Balon say Real are now expecting to let the player go the moment they receive an official bid from Mourinho.

They are said to be aware of how strong Manchester United’s interest in Kroos is.

The Red Devils are supposedly keen to sign him to lift some of the doom and gloom mood that has threatened to engulf their campaign.

Don Balon say Real president Florentino Perez is prepared to accept a bid the moment it is made.

And he is happy to take advantage of United’s desperation if it means getting Neymar in.

Meanwhile, speaking after the Red Devils’ 2-0 win over Everton last night, Mourinho played it cool on transfers.

“I don't know about transfers," he said.

Man Utd transfer news: Toni Kroos is wanted by Jose Mourinho

"In this moment we are in trouble, in two to three weeks time maybe we recover and we breathe in a different way, can we improve now or do we wait until the summer? I cannot say.

“If somebody comes, welcome.

“If nobody comes, we are going to fight with the players we have.”

Kroos nearly joined United in 2014.

But despite verbally agreeing a move with David Moyes, he ended up swapping Bayern Munich for Real Madrid instead.
