Sugarcane growers go for new movement in Natore

NATORE, Jan 1: Sugarcane Growers' Association announced fresh programmes for their 10-point charter of demands at a general meeting at Bagatipara Upazila here on Saturday afternoon.
The meeting was held at the Noorpur Malonchi High School auditorium in the upazila.
President of National Farmers' Association, upazila unit, Abdul Hadi presided over the meeting and President of Sugarcane Growers' Association of North Bengal Sugar Mills (NBSM) in Natore and President of Workers' Party, district unit, Ibrahim Khalil attended the meeting as chief guest.
The programmes include- street meeting at Tomaltala Road crossing point in the upazila on January 6, human chain on January 15 demanding renovation of Malonchi Railway Station, demonstration in front of the upazila office to save the Boral River from destruction and memorandum submission to the upazila nirbahi officer on February 5.
Among others, President of Natore Sugar Mill Sugarcane Growers' Association Abdul Karim, and Vice-President of National Farmers' Association, district unit, Moshiur Rahaman also spoke at the meeting.
