Novo Nordisk A/S: Status regarding Novo Nordisk's holding of its own shares (31 December 2017)

Bagsværd, Denmark, 2 January 2018 - In continuation of the company's announcements dated 9 August 2017 and 1 November 2017 concerning planned share repurchase programmes, and pursuant to Section 204.25 of the New York Stock Exchange Listed Company Manual, this is to report that Novo Nordisk A/S (NYSE: NVO) and its wholly-owned affiliates on 31 December 2017 owned 55,542,054 of its own B shares of DKK 0.20, corresponding to a total nominal value of DKK 11,108,411 or 2.2% of the total share capital.

In the fourth quarter of 2017 a total of 13,925,270 B shares were repurchased, and 4,329 B shares were disposed to employees in connection with employee incentive programmes.
