2 militants held with grenades in Ctg

Police have arrested two militant suspects with 10 live grenades and a suicide vest in West Madarbarhi area under Sadarghat Police Station of Chittagong district.  

According to bdnews24.com, police claimed that arrested Ashfaqur Rahman, 21, and Rakibul Hasan, 20, are suspected members of banned militant outfit Neo-JMB. 

Chittagong Metropolitan Police's detective Branch Additional Deputy Commissioner AAM Humayun Kabir said the detectives conducted a drive on a five-storey building near Shubhopur Bus Station area around 11:30pm on Monday and nabbed them.  

The duo stashed the grenades and suicide vest as part of a plan to carry out attacks, he said.

Details would be revealed at a press conference on Tuesday, he added.
