Rose McGowan, the actress who has become one of leading activists fighting for equality for women in Hollywood, will be the subject of an E! documentary series called Citizen Rose, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The five-part series will debut later this month.

"You are formally invited into my mind and world," McGowan said. "I am thrilled to partner with E! to amplify my message of bravery, art, joy and survival. As I ready my book, Brave, I realized I wanted to show how we can heal through art even when being hounded by evil."

McGowan is one of Hollywood's most outspoken feminist activists, and was one of the first people to publicly speak out against now-disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein, who she says raped her in 1997. When Weinstein learned she was working on a book in which she would write about what happened to her, he offered her $1 million to keep quiet. He had already settled with her for $100,000 in 1997, but that contract didn't contain a nondisclosure agreement. He also hired spies to get close to McGowan and report on her. Since the stories broke, McGowan's profile has continued to rise due to her bold rhetoric, which has included calling out Meryl Streep for not doing enough to fight misogyny. In November, McGowan pleaded not guilty to drug charges stemming from a warrant issued in February of last year. She told The New Yorker that she believes the drugs may have been planted by someone trying to silence her.

Citizen Rose will premiere with a two-hour special on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 8/7c, the same day as the release of her book, Brave. The four subsequent episodes will air in the spring.
