44: Swansea corner! They have to make set-pieces count… close. Lloris punches the initial delivery clear before Sanchez blocks a shot and clears the rebound to the moon!

41: Fernando Llorente almost grabs another against his former club but can’t keep his header from Christian Eriksen’s free-kick down.

39: Close! Dyer’s cross from the right alludes everyone and sits up nicely for Olsson to smash it wide. Should have done better from there.

36: I think this game will be remembered for the rain-soaked surface rather than the football. The ball is hardly rolling and nobody’s able to create anything of note from open play.

13: Kevin De Bruyne delivers another dangerous cross and, in trying to deny Sergio Aguero, Christian Kabasele turns into his own net.

23: Hmmmm, the rain isn’t stopping here and a few puddles are starting to appear. I fear we won’t finish tonight’s clash if it doesn’t relent.

20: And back to things in south Wales. Nothing has really changed as Tottenham continue to dominate things. Alli and Llorente have shot from distance but haven’t troubled Fabianski.

SOUTHAMPTON 1-0 CRYSTAL PALACE - LONG

17: Good grief! More shocking than a Raheem Sterling goal after 38 seconds is the fact Shane Long has actually scored a goal! Long latches onto Jeremy Pied's low cross and finds the corner.

Shane Long's goal ended a run of 1320 minutes without scoring in the Premier League, since doing so against Sunderland in February 2017.

MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 WATFORD - STERLING

1: Pep Guardiola’s side have taken the lead after 38 seconds! Raheem Sterling converts from close-range after a left-flank cross from Sane. This could be a cricket score!

At 38 seconds, Sterling's goal is the fastest scored in the Premier League this season, and the third fastest scored by Manchester City in Premier League history.

SWANSEA 0-1 TOTTENHAM - LLORENTE

13: He comes back to haunt his old side! Fernando Llorente nods in from Christian Eriksen's free-kick. The replays show the Spaniard was a yard offside when the delivery came in. Harsh on Carlos Carvalhal’s side.

Apparently that’s his first league goal of the season for Spurs. And for those wondering, No, he didn’t celebrate.

12: Martin Olson collects the first booking of the evening for a filthy challenge on Trippier. Eriksen sends it in from the right flank but Fernandez clears.

9: Mauricio Pochettino looks like he’s ready for a diamond heist after tonight’s match. He’s wearing a wooly hat, snood and gloves as the rain pours down. It’s the perfect alibi…

6: The visitors are in complete control in the early stages. Swansea are playing with five at the back and have been defending since the first kick!

That they also set a divisional record of 18 consecutive wins led to widespread descriptions of them as English football's finest ever team, and at Palace they avoided defeat when Ederson saved Luka Milivojevic's late penalty.

The Arsenal "Invincibles" of 2004 are widely recognised as among England's finest after they remained undefeated for an entire league season. They similarly narrowly avoided defeat at Manchester United when Ruud van Nistelrooy missed a penalty against them during a competitive 0-0 draw.

Guardiola, however, does not believe their achievement will be emulated, and largely because of the improvement that has been seen in domestic football since.

LLORIS: WE'RE READY AND HUNGRY

19:10: Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris insists his side are ready to take the new year by storm after bouncing back from their mauling by Manchester City in style.

Keeper Lloris was helpless as four City goals flew past him at the Etihad Stadium two weeks ago but believes subsequent performances have proven the character of the team.

Spurs cruised through a potentially tricky trip to Turf Moor by beating Burnley 3-0, and followed it up with an emphatic 5-2 win over Southampton on Boxing Day.

Speaking before tonight’s trip to struggling Swansea, Lloris said "This team has character. We've showed it already in the past and we are showing it at the moment. We are looking forward first to Swansea and then West Ham. The important thing now is to keep on winning and to keep the confidence high inside our minds.

"It was so important to continue our momentum against Southampton after playing so well at Burnley. Now we have to be ready to start again with a busy week but as I said, we're confident and looking forward to it."

18:30: Welcome to our LIVE coverage of Swansea vs Tottenham from the Liberty Stadium.

Another day, another batch of Premier League fixtures. I thought we were supposed to stop overindulging after Christmas?

Not the I’m complaining of course. It’s either watch live football or help pack the festive decorations away.

And that’s a task I’d climb mountains to avoid.

Anyway, we’ve got a few cracking fixtures coming up shortly, and I’ll be guiding you through the lot!

SWANSEA vs TOTTENHAM

Swansea boss Carlos Carvalhal will be without full-back Kyle Naughton.

Naughton starts a three-match ban after accepting a Football Association violent conduct charge for a stamp on Watford's Stefano Okaka during Saturday's 2-1 win at Vicarage Road.

Tammy Abraham is a doubt with a niggling stomach injury and fellow striker Wilfried Bony is battling a hamstring problem, while Ki Sung-yueng (calf) and Kyle Bartley (knee ligaments) are likely to miss out again.

Harry Kane missed training on Friday but has continued to be assessed, with boss Mauricio Pochettino hopeful he could be ready for the Liberty Stadium encounter.

Victor Wanyama could make his first appearance since August as he steps up his return after long-term knee trouble.

MANCHESTER CITY vs WATFORD

Manchester City will be without Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne when they host Watford.

Each suffered injuries in Sunday's 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace, and manager Pep Guardiola also does not expect David Silva to return after being absent for personal reasons.

Defenders Vincent Kompany, Fabian Delph and John Stones could yet return but left-back Benjamin Mendy (knee) and midfielder Phil Foden (ankle) are still out.

Watford will have an unchanged squad for the trip. Captain Troy Deeney serves the last instalment of a four-match suspension following his red card against Huddersfield before Christmas.

Kiko Femenia, Will Hughes (both hamstring), Younes Kaboul (foot), Miguel Britos (ankle), Craig Cathcart, Nathaniel Chalobah and Isaac Success (all knee) are all still out injured.

WEST HAM vs WEST BROM

Mark Noble and Michail Antonio are struggling to be fit for West Ham's meeting with West Brom.

Captain Noble is battling to shake off a hamstring injury and winger Antonio has yet to resume training after a groin problem.

Reece Oxford is back from a loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach, but Sam Byram (hamstring), Jose Fonte and Edimilson Fernandes (both ankle) are still out.

West Brom boss Alan Pardew is expected to make changes for tonight’s trip.

The Baggies only played against Arsenal on Sunday and, with just 48 hours between games, Pardew could recall James McClean, Oliver Burke, Grzegorz Krychowiak and Allan Nyom.

Salomon Rondon (hamstring) is still struggling while Nacer Chadli (hip) and James Morrison (Achilles) are out for Albion.

SOUTHAMPTON vs CRYSTAL PALACE

Alex McCarthy could keep his place in goal as Southampton host Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

McCarthy recorded a clean sheet against Manchester United on Saturday after manager Mauricio Pellegrino dropped Fraser Forster.

Saints are still without striker Charlie Austin, who is both suspended and affected by a hamstring injury. Left-back Ryan Bertrand (hamstring) could be back in contention.

Crystal Palace hope to have Ruben Loftus-Cheek, James McArthur and Jeffrey Schlupp available.

Each missed Sunday's 0-0 draw with Manchester City after picking up knocks in Thursday's 3-2 defeat by Arsenal.

Jason Puncheon and Scott Dann also suffered injuries against City, meaning that with Mamadou Sakho and Joel Ward also injured, Martin Kelly and Damien Delaney will vie for selection in central defence.
