“Charity ball is one of Grayson County’s most elegant and sophisticated events, but at its heart, it’s about giving back in big ways that create positive change in our community,” 2018 Run for the Roses Charity Ball Chairman Kate Corder said in a press release. “This year’s ball is on track to raise a record amount for our beneficiaries, and that is a direct reflection of the commitment of our volunteers and many, many corporate and individual donors who give so generously.”
The charity ball beneficiaries were selected from several prequalified area agencies whose applications were reviewed and the charity ball board made its selections this spring.
“Since the inception of the Sherman Service League in 1954, millions have been distributed to local organizations in Grayson County,” Sherman Service League President April Curran said in the release. “We are humbled by the work of the wonderful agencies who serve the most vulnerable members of our community.”
Sherman Service League’s annual fundraising event is one of the longest-running Grayson County’s charitable community events that provides funding for many Grayson County charitable organizations annually.
