TAX TARGETS
The federal government admits it will miss promised targets on carbon reduction by a long shot. There is a surprising development. Just like they miss just about anything they promised before getting elected. But I am sure, and I am sure everyone else is, too, that they will not miss their targets on collecting all the carbon tax. And, of course, including GST (because it is only logical to tax the tax and make you pay with already taxed money), and all other forms and streams of revenue will be collected to the last penny. They never fail at that.

(But they put every penny to good use. Gag.)
HARD ON FAMILIES
Your recent survey indicated 90% of those responding feel the cities new fees will be a burden on their families. We can only hope city council takes this information (and other similar survey results) into account when dealing with the “nice to have” new arena for a “for profit” private sports group, and when deciding on the “feel-good, come together for 16-day Olympic bid” that apparently no other city wants to bid on. See Mayor (Naheed) Nenshi’s previous comments “We bid on the Games, we get the Games.”
KEN ALBERT
(The minutiae of citizens scrimping to make ends meet clearly means nothing to council.)
PHONEY PM
Well, I think the Canadian media, and soon the Canadian voters, will see and understand that they elected a ceremonial PM by his own admission. One of the articles I read pointed out the ceremonial position was the GG. Governor-General Julie Payette, please resist and use some of your real power to save this nation. That same article said (Stephen) Harper was too much into detail and demanded unwavering loyalty. Now we have someone so above the detail and the rules and still demanding unwavering loyalty. Which would you rather have? I don’t think voters wanted a ceremonial PM (which is basically all we have had — head dress, selfies, platitudes, apologies, payments, rehab traitors, wide open borders — we love everybody). I think voters wanted a leader and we have missed out.

THAT’S MY $150
Re: Carbon Tax Hike On Way (Dec. 29). I find it interesting that Dr. Trevor Tombe thinks no one will notice the $150 extra the government will pick out of our pockets for the carbon tax on Jan. 1. I suspect that for most Albertans, if someone took $150 out of your pocket in one day, you’d definitely notice. Also interesting is that with 60% of households receiving the rebate, the 40% of remaining Albertans are paying 100% of the carbon tax. Ah well, just another left-wing wealth redistribution scheme.

(It’s not all in one day, more like drip, drip, drip … But, yeah.)
YOU IDIOTS!
Re: “Donald Trump’s most ridiculous tweets of 2017”. What an idiotic, ignorant stupid piece of trash to print! Have you no shame? Is it any wonder MSM is on its death bed? In its maniacal irrational obsession to destroy Trump, you are destroying yourselves! I hope the end comes soon.

(They’re Trump’s tweets, he’s a public figure and he’s open to criticism like any other politician.)
