MCG cleaners find a fetus in village sewer

GURGAON: A fetus was found in a sewer line in Sarhaul village on Monday when the sewer was being cleaned by MCG workers. Police have lodged an FIR against an unidentified woman.

Around 12pm on Monday when workers were cleaning the sewer line, two of them, Subhash and Santosh, found a "baby-like figure" and informed Mukesh, their supervisor about it, after which the latter reached the spot and informed the police.


An FIR was registered under Section 318 (concealment of birth by secret disposal of dead body) of the IPC at Sector 18 police station against an unidentified woman and kept the fetus in mortuary.


"We are investigating the matter," said ASI Dev Charan, who is investigating the case.
