(MENAFN) 12 Charges have been filed against Ahed Tamimi, Palestinian teenager, after an online video circulated showing her and her cousin slapping and kicking two Israeli soldiers off of their house porch.

Ahed Tamimi comes from a family full of resistances and activists like herself, this is her first time of being detained by Israel forces where as her mother was arrested five times before.

Ahed Tamimi and her mother will face the same military court on Monday for a hearing; she will appear in the Ofer court to decide whether she will be held in detention until her trial begins.

As Palestinians and Arabs look up to Ahed and acknowledge her as hero and a symbol of courage, Israelis say she assaulted a soldier and disturbed him.
