Bhopal: 19-yr-old ends life, names two for ‘misbehaving’ in suicide note
Bhopal: Police have arrested two youths in connection with a suicide of a 19-year-old girl at Saikheda in Betul district. The girl hanged herself to death at her residence on intervening night of December 31-January 1. Police have recovered a two-page suicide note and arrested two youths whose names have been mentioned in it. Meanwhile initial reports have pointed at gangrape, however, the police is still to confirm it. No case was filed till the filing of the report as police is waiting for the postmortem report.
Saikheda SHO KR Silale informed that the girl has named Rajesh Kakodia and Balram Dhurve in her suicide note. She in the note has accused the two boy of ‘misbehaving’ with her when she had gone to attend nature’s call in the night. Police are suspecting that what girl meant was sexual assault; however, they will wait for postmortem report to confirm it. The two have been taken into custody, however, no case has been filed as the PM report is awaited, said Silale.
Betul SP DR Teniwar said that police have come to know that the girl had an affair with a person while she was pursuing her 12th board in Betul. Her boyfriend along with his friend had come to meet her on New Year’s eve. Rajesh and Balram, whose names have been mentioned in suicide note, spotted the girl with her boyfriend while they were meeting at the village outskirts, Teniwar said. On being caught, the girl might have felt insulted and humiliated and took the extreme step blaming these two boys for ‘rape’.
In fact, in the suicide note, she used the word “misbehave”, and not rape clarified SP. He further informed that police have traced her boyfriend and will interrogate him. Both Rajesh and Balram have been taken into police custody, but no case has been filed as yet, he addedOn Monday, the family performed her last rites. Police will take the statements of the family members and examine the postmortem report before filing the case.
