Another commission report to be presented to President
Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Inquire and Investigate into Serious Acts of Fraud and Corruption will hand over reports of nearly 15 cases of serious fraud and corruption to President Maithripala Sirisena today (Jan. 02).
The Commission, in addition to the reports of the 15 cases of serious fraud and corruption prepared after extensive investigations and analysis of evidence, will also hand over the recommendations on the measures to be taken in future to prevent such crimes.
Meanwhile, President Maithripala Sirisena will make a special statement tomorrow on the final report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Bond Issuance of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
The final report of the Commission was handed over to the President on 30th of December 2017.
The three-member Commission was headed by the Supreme Court Judge K.T Chithrasiri.
Meanwhile, the JVP says that they hope to make a request to the President’s Secretary on obtaining a copy of the report handed over by the presidential commission that investigated the bond issue.
The JVP Politburo member, Wasantha Samarasinghe noted that the necessary request form will be submitted to the President’s Secretary this morning.
