The Brazilian was linked with a move to the Spanish giants throughout the summer window but the Reds held firm, rejecting all bids despite him handing in a transfer request.
Coutinho has been in stunning form for Jurgen Klopp’s side since establishing himself back in the side, scoring 12 goals so far this season.
Barcelona are expected to go back in for the 25-year-old this month in order to help them maintain their lead at the top of La Liga.

But while Cottee expects him to leave Anfield eventually, he doesn’t think it will happen this window.
“Personally, I can’t see Coutinho leaving until the end of the season,” he said.
“I think if he was going to go he would have gone at the start of this season.
“People do it, they make mistakes, or someone had a bright idea or whatever.
