Real Madrid will be beaten by Wolves in the battle for Rafa Mir

Real Madrid were confident of securing a £444,000 deal for Mir with Valencia.

He was expected to become their first arrival of the January transfer window.

But Wolves appear to have beaten the Spanish giants to the forward.

According to the Express & Star, Wolves have agreed a £1.5million transfer fee for the striker.

Wolves are managed by Valencia’s former manager Nuno Espiritu Santo.

And that is thought to be the reasoning behind the surprise move for Mir.

Mir, 20, has not featured for Valencia this season after he rejected a new contract offer in the summer.

He was had he completed a switch to the Spanish capital.

But the Express & Star claim the 6ft 2in striker, who boasts 15 goals for the reserves this season, is heading to Molineux.
