EastEnders spoilers: Mick Carter shooter 'revealed' as soap accidentally drops major clue

EASTENDERS fans were horrified tonight as popular character Mick Carter appeared to be shot.

The fan favourite, played by Danny Dyer, appeared to be shot by a mystery man in the back of the van that he was robbing.

Mick, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), Vincent Hubbard (Richard Blackwood) and Aidan Maguire (Patrick Bergin) were all involved in the major heist plot.

But after an hour's build up, the plot all seemed to go wrong very quickly.

As the men opened the back of the van, two men with guns were waiting for them.

Mick recognised one of them, saying 'it's you,' before seemingly being shot.

As fans scrambled to find out who the person is, EastEnders gave away the name in their credits.

CREDITS: EastEnders revealed the identity of the shooter

The mystery shooter's name was revealed as Callum 'Halfway' Highway, played by Tony Clay.

He also messaged Mick earlier in the episode, saying: "HNY am down your way today - might drop by."

Some viewers think that he is one of Lee Carter's (Danny-Boy Hatchard) friends who helped him rob the Queen Vic.

But viewers will have to wait and find out the real story.
