The upcoming mid-range Sony smartphone - the Xperia XA2 Ultra has hit the headlines, thanks to a leaked photo live image of the device. The image reveals several details and shows the design that is almost similar to that of the yesteryear model.
The Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra appears to retain the huge bezels as seen on its predecessor - the Xperia XA1 Ultra but a tad slimmer. The leaked GFXBench benchmark details have already revealed that this smartphone might boast of a 6-inch display with a FHD screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Apart from the display, the benchmark database has revealed a few other additions as well.
Firstly, the Sony smartphone appears to flaunt dual front-facing selfie cameras but these sensors are not positioned next to each other but one at the left and the other at the right. One of the sensors is a 16MP module while the other one appears to be unknown. The device features a LED flash towards the left of the front camera.
The other change that is noticeable in the design is the lack of a cutout at the base of the smartphone. The Xperia XA1 Ultra has a slit at the lower bezel making us believe that it has stereo speakers but the same was meant only for the design purposes. Now the lack of this cutout makes us believe that the Xperia XA2 Ultra will not get stereo speakers.
The leaked live image revealed by Weibo via Slashleaks shows the "About Phone" screen in the settings menu. The screen shows that the model number is H4233 confirming that the device is the Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra he model number is H4233 confirming that the device is the Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra. The smartphone runs Android 8.0.0 Oreo with the November security patch installed.
When it comes to the hardware aspects, the GFXBench bench listing that leaked in the past hinted that the upcoming Sony smartphone will get the power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of default memory capacity. Also, the rear camera module is said to comprise of a 21MP sensor. Apparently, we can expect the dual rear camera setup to comprise of a 16MP sensor and a 21MP sensor. But we need to wait for an official confirmation from Sony regarding the Xperia XA2 Ultra.
