The Fortnite Silenced Pistol was released today as part of a new update for Battle Royale fans.

As you might imagine, the new weapon has been made with stealth players in mind, those who hang out in bushes will be wanting one of these for their end-game push.

The Silenced Pistol has been launched as part of the Fortnite Battle Royale mode and will also feature in the new Sneaky Silencer Limited Time Mode, which kicks off on January 5.

The new weapons has a Epic and Legendary rarity attached to it and can be found in treasure chests, supply drops or as floor loot.

The new Silencer limited mode, meanwhile, is set to launch later this week and will have its own unique rules.

These include:

  • Weapons are limited to Suppressed SMG and Suppressed Pistols only.
  • Traps are disabled.
  • Greatly increased drop rate of the Bush.

Sneaky Silencers runs until January 8 and replaces the recently finished High Explosives Limited Time Mode, which was rotated out today.

No other big changes to the Battle Royale mode were announced today, with no downtime needed to deploy the new weapon and mode.

It was recently confirmed that a missing inventory glitch recently hit the game, causing players to lose some valuable loot.

Here’s what happened, according to developers Epic Games: “The first one was a problem with our build deploy on 12/27 resulting in some of you being routed to a bad node during the 12-5 pm window.

“This created a situation where the game couldn't access your inventory, and it appeared like you didn't have all your cool things in your world inventories. (Which sadly, included your ability to access your building shapes) Then the game saved your new "lost state" over your old world item inventory, resulting in inventory loss.

“Since it was limited to those people who touched the bad node, we couldn't simply rollback the entire game because it would disrupt millions of players and their progress.

“What that means is that certain people lost a lot of world items (not schematics and currencies though) and all around are missing a bunch of crafting items and weapons.

“We came across is a select group who purchased V-Bucks but never actually received them.

“Also super irritating when you want to buy something and the system appears to take your money and you didn't get your stuff! We compensated players with an equal or greater amount of v-bucks on the morning of December 29.”

Epic have confirmed that since they don’t know how long it may take to restore the whole inventory, they’re granting a much bigger amount into player storage, based (roughly) on time played.

Fortnite Battle Royale mode is currently free to play on PS4, Xbox One and PC, but is not available to download through Steam.
