12 lakh new books distributed in Rangamati

RANGAMATI, Jan 1: In 10 upazilas of the district, at least 12 lakh 37 thousand books were distributed among the students of primary, secondary and madrasa level.
At the same, 25,000 books with ethnic language are being distributed among the students of the ethnic community.
 On the occasion, Vice-Chairman of Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board Tarun Kanti Ghosh inaugurated the book distribution programme at Rangamati Shikshan Niketan School on Monday morning.
Rangamati District Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Manzarul Mannan inaugurated the book distribution programme at Rangamati Government High School and Rani Dayamoyee High School School.
Rangamati District Council Chairman Brashakelu Chakma inaugurated the book distribution programme at Rangamati Government Girls High School. Rangamati Zila Parishad Member Haji Musa Mattabbar opened the Madrasa-level book distribution programme at Rangamati Senior Madrasa.
Roshan Ali, primary education officer in Rangamati, said that during the opening day of book distribution, 4,35,000 text books were distributed among 95 thousand students of primary schools and Ebtadia madrasas. Text books written in ethnic language are distributed in the same way About 25 thousand books are being distributed to Chakma, Marma and Tripura students.
On the other hand, District Education Officer Uttam Khisa said that about 8 lakh new textbooks are being distributed in secondary schools and madrasas this year.
