Griezmann to Man Utd update
22:40: Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will be backed in the transfer window this month.
That’s the view of Sky Sports transfer guru Matt Murray.
“Yes I do think they will back Mourinho in the market because of who he is and they’ve obviously put him on that long deal, bringing him in and everything else,” he said.
“Griezmann would be £100million wouldn’t he?
“It’s got to be somewhere around that, based on what other top players have gone for.”
Coutinho will go…in the summer
20:00: Sky Sports man Tony Cottee thinks Philippe Coutinho will leave Liverpool for Barcelona.
But only at the end of the season.
“Personally, I can’t see Philippe Coutinho leaving until the end of the season,” he said.
“I think if he was going to go he would have gone at the start of this season.
“People do it, they make mistakes, or someone had a bright idea or whatever.
“I can’t see him going, I cannot see him going in this window, I really can’t.
“I think he will go at the end of the season. I can’t see him going.”
Puel on Mahrez
18:41: Claude Puel insists he wants Riyad Mahrez to remain at Leicester this season.
He said: "I like this player and I'd like to keep our best players. We will ask him the question, for me I am happy to play with the team with Riyad, with Jamie (Vardy) and others.
"You say the word, speculation. I would like to keep all my best players. It was a very good game, a fantastic game for Riyad, It will be important to keep the maximum of our players."
Courtois agreement
17.22: Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois reportedly has an agreement in place to join Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Having given up in their long pursuit of Manchester United shot-stopper David de Gea, Spanish publication Diario Gol claim Courtois is their first choice.
And they suggest the 25-year-old has now even reached an agreement with Los Blancos that will see him move to the Bernabeu in the summer.
The former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper is under contract with the Blues until 2019 and Antonio Conte is keen for a new contract to be agreed.
Merson on Man Utd problem
15:30: Manchester United may miss out on transfer deals if runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City want the same players, Paul Merson says.
“Jose Mourinho said after the Burnley game that Man United had not spent as much as Man City, but he tends to get his business done very early in the summer,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“As soon as the season finishes, he's in there - bang, smash, wallop, gets his players and then goes on holiday before working on his team.
“It's a difficult one. Do Man Utd go out and panic-buy now?
“Come the summer, if Man City and Man United go up against each other for bit targets, there's only one winner at the moment.”

Coutinho will stay until summer
14.20: Philippe Coutinho will not be leaving Liverpool until the end of the season, reckons Tony Cottee.
“Personally, I can’t see Coutinho leaving until the end of the season,” Cottee said on Sky Sports.
“I think if he was going to go he would have gone at the start of this season.
“I can’t see him going, I cannot see him going in this window, I really can’t.
“I think he will go at the end of the season. I can’t see him going.”
Coutinho out of Liverpool squad
14:15: Philippe Coutinho was left out of Liverpool’s squad with Burnley today with a thigh injury.
But the timing of the withdrawal won’t have gone unnoticed to many who have followed Coutinho’s Reds career since the summer.
Barcelona want to sign Coutinho and Express Sport understands a £125m deal could be done this week.
Today is the first day of the transfer window.
Mohamed Salah is also out, as expected, with a groin problem.
Klopp said: "Phil [Coutinho] and Mo [Salah] aren't available, that's why they are not in the squad. [They're] both injured and [that's] not too cool but that's how it is.”
Walsh blasts Jose
13.50: Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has been criticised for his transfer business by former Liverpool striker Paul Walsh.
Walsh pinpointed Victor Lindelof and Henrikh Mkhitaryan as two mistakes Mourinho has made since becoming Manchester United manager.
“His signings, a lot of them haven’t been good enough,” he said on Sky Sports.
“Lindelof I’m yet to be convinced of massively. Mkhitaryan it looks like he doesn’t fancy.”

Sanchez to join City on one condition
13.20: Alexis Sanchez will switch Arsenal for Manchester City in January if playing football is a higher priority for him than earning money, says Tony Cottee.
Cottee believes Sanchez would get a far bigger wage if he waited until the summer as City would not have to pay a fee for him.
“Purely from a player’s point of view, he needs to sit tight if it’s about money," he said on Sky Sports.
“He’s just got to sit tight because at the end he’s going to get a stack-load more money at the end of the season by being a free transfer than if he moves now. If it’s about money.
“If it’s about football, he’ll sign for Man City and move on.”
Celtic transfer news
12:42: Celtic risk losing both Moussa Dembele and Jozo Simunovic in the transfer window.
And they may struggle to replace the duo.
Stoke have emerged as rivals to Brighton in the chase for Dembele, who is valued at £18m.
And Burnley could rekindle their efforts to sign Simunovic.
Celtic hope to replace Simunovic with Dundee’s Jack Hendry - if the former heads to the Premier League.
But they face competition from Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Southampton, who are all eyeing the £1.5m-rated player.
Has Klopp told Phil he can leave?
12.20: Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp may have told Philippe Coutinho he can leave the club next summer, according to Ian Darke.
Darke says Liverpool should sell Coutinho at the end of the season otherwise they will ‘lose’ him mentally.
“He’s knuckled down and he’s got on with the job and I think he will carry on doing that job for the rest of the season,” he said on ESPN FC.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Jurgen Klopp has said to him ‘look, give me another season here of everything you can do and then next summer we’ll look after you’.
“I think the boys are right, they might lose him next summer if they continue to try and keep hold of him."

Leicester done deal at last
Leicester have finally signed Adrien Silva four months after his failed transfer.
Leicester missed the deadline by 14 seconds to sign Silva from Sporting Lisbon in the summer.
It meant he could not play for the club during the first half of the season.
But the Foxes now have all the paperwork in order on the day the transfer window opened.
"I’ve been working hard every day to arrive at this moment and I’m in good shape,” said the £25m arrival.
"It’s been very important to keep training because it’s a long time not playing and of course I can work and train more than normal, but there is nothing better than the game.
"I will be in good shape because I have worked a lot – I have confidence in that – but I have to play games to get better."

11:05: Manchester United are banking on Paul Pogba to help them capture Juventus striker Paulo Dybala.
Pogba and Dybala played at Juve together before the former completed an £89m move to Old Trafford.
United are keen on Dybala, while they are also monitoring Antoine Griezmann.
The Daily Mail reckon United will look to use Pogba as an intermediary to lure Dybala to England if they opt to focus on his signature.

“Goretzka to Bayern would also explain Arturo Vidal's link to Chelsea.

The defender has completed his switch to Southampton in a £75m deal.
Van Dijk could not be fully registered to play for Liverpool until the transfer window opened today.
But he won’t be eligible to play Burnley in the Premier League today.
Discussing the transfer, Burnley manager Sean Dyche said: “Of course, it affects the whole market and that’s the downside for the smaller clubs because everyone shifts.
“Every club out there when they see that will decide their centre-half has just shot up in value, almost immediately.”
Man Utd eye Griezmann
08:25: Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will try to save their season by signing Antoine Griezmann this month.
The transfer window is open and Mourinho is seeking additional fire power to his squad.

Express Sport understands Mourinho will bid for Griezmann in the hope of salvaging United’s campaign.

Chelsea done deal
07:45: Diego Costa has officially left Chelsea for Atletico Madrid in one of the first done deals of the transfer window.
Costa was unveiled on Sunday and said: "I've waited a long time for this day, I'm tired of training and I need to play.”

"I've been working hard and training hard but there's nothing else to do," Costa added.
