(MENAFN - Colombo Gazette) /wp-content/uploads/2018/01/02-10-1024x745.jpg">President Maithripala Sirisena is to make a special statement on Wednesday with regards to the report on the treasury bond scam.

The final report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) into the Bond Issuance of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka was handed over to President Maithripala Sirisena on Saturday.

The Commission's Chairman Justice K.T. Chitrasiri handed over the report and two other members of the Commission, Justice P S Jayawardene and retired Deputy Auditor General, V Kandasamy were present together with the Secretary to the Commission, S Udugamsuriya.

The Commission of Inquiry was appointed on 27th January to investigate, inquire into and report on the Issuance of Treasury Bonds during the period 01st February 2015 to 31st March, 2016.

The period of the Commission had been extended several times with the last extension up to 31st December for rendition of the final report of the Commission on completion of the assigned tasks. (Colombo Gazette)
