Greer Police are asking the public to help locate a missing person.

Police said a resident of Ridgeview Community Care Home at 217 Chandler Road was reported missing at 10:53 a.m. Sunday. He left the home at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday and did not return, police said.

He was identified as William Burton Hoffman, 64, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 130 to 140 pounds, grayish-brown hair, brown eyes and was wearing blue jeans, a T-shirt, black leather jacket and tennis shoes.

Police said Hoffman has mental issues that affect his memory and causes confusion.

Anyone who locates him is asked to contact Greer police at 848-2151.
