Luke Benjamin King was born at 12:25 a.m. Monday at Novant Presbyterian Medical Center, the first Charlotte baby of the year.

He weighed 7 pounds and 11 ounces and measured 19 inches. He has a 3-year-old brother.

Parents Ben and Lindsey King live in Mint Hill.

The first baby born at Charlotte’s other hospital, Carolinas Medical Center, was born 10 minutes after Luke Benjamin King at 12:35 a.m. The healthy boy weighed 7 ounds 2 ounces, according to Carolinas.
