Marvel's Create Your Own platform is set to let you take control of creating your own comics using Marvel superheroes, but some restrictions apply.

The website for the not-yet launched platform lists the restrictions, some of which are pretty straight-forward, while others seem odd. For example, the platform is region-specific, so only aspiring comic writers "physically located" in the US, Canada, Australia, and Singapore can use the service.

However, creators are also prohibited from using "obscenity, bad or offensive language," or even "proxies for bad or offensive language." That means your comics can't even use the classic '@#$%!' for curse words that have existed in comic-dom for ages.

Also prohibited are double entendres, amusement parks (other than Disney), killer bees, guns, death, or "other controversial topics," including "social issues."

So if you planned to make a comic with Deadpool visiting Six Flags, make sure to change the park to Disney California Adventure and consider not using Deadpool at all.

Disney bought 21st Century Fox, but even before the deal happened, you'd still have been OK to reference 21st Century Fox since it's "affiliated with Marvel." But don't even think about referencing any non-Marvel affiliated studios, because it's also against the terms.

If you're interested in jumping in and making your very own Marvel comics, you can sign up for updates on availability on the official Create Your Own website.

Seth Macy already has an idea for a comic in which Wolverine and Beast from Beauty and the Beast team up to fight crimes in 19th century France. Follow him on Twitter at @sethmacy.
