(MENAFN - Gulf Times) Under
the patronage of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), Al Khansaa
Primary School for Girls yesterday organised an 'Internal Exhibition for
Scientific Research under the theme, 'Design for Change.
A number
of officials from the Quality and Safety Department of Ashghal were
present at the opening. Quality and Safety Department manager engineer
Khalid Mohamed al-Emadi inaugurated the exhibition.
The Department
provided technical support for some projects proposed by the school,
enabling students to conduct the experiments in Ashghal's Centre for
Research and Development. The Department also supported the exhibition
with a number of mobile laboratories including environment and materials
research laboratory equipment.
While expressing happiness at the
event, al-Emadi said Ashghal's participation in the exhibition is their
second at the school. Last year, Ashghal actively participated in two
research projects.
Principal of the school Hoda al-Obeidly
appreciated Ashghal's efforts that contributed to the event's success,
stressing that the Authority has a great role in making the exhibition a
reality.
'There are 21 participants in the research. One out of
seven research projects will be recommended by the jury to be the winner
of the 10th National Competition for Students Research,
'Entrepreneurship and Creativity, sponsored by the Ministry of
Education and Higher Education. Such exhibitions aim to enrich
scientific research in Qatar and to raise the scientific and
intellectual level of the students, she added.
