Torchlight Parade
Participants ski down the Freeway trail carrying lit torches for the New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Show Sunday at Monarch Mountain. Despite temperatures in the low 20s, hundreds of people gathered to watch the festivities. With a base of 26 inches of snow, the ski and snowboard area starts the new year with 46 trails open and all lifts operating.

Fireworks over Monarch Mountain
Fireworks light up the sky Sunday at Monarch Mountain’s New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Show. Prior to the parade and fireworks, the ski and snowboard area offered live music by Roundhouse Assembly and a happy hour in celebration of the new year.

Monarch Mountain
Just as the sun set, hundreds of skiers and snowboarders, participants and onlookers passed some of the last few hours of 2017 at the 36th annual Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Sunday at Monarch Mountain.
The annual parade at the ski and snowboard area began at 5:30 p.m. and included live music by local band Roundhouse Assembly.
Although it has received no recent new snow, Monarch Mountain reported a base of 26 inches of snow and will start the new year today with 46 trails open and all lifts operating.
