Two nabbed with contraband drugs in two districts

At least two persons were arrested with different contraband drugs in two districts- Rajshahi and Natore, in two days.
RAJSHAHI: Police, in a drive, arrested an alleged drug peddler with 400 pieces of yaba tablets from Ekbosorer Botgach area on Bagha-Charghat road in Charghat Upazila here on Saturday night.
The arrested is Bahadur Rahman, son of Jabed Ali, of Ullahpara Upazila in Sirajganj District.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Charghat Police Station (PS) Nibaran Chandra Barman said on a tip-off, a team of police led by Sub-Inspector Abdur Rahim raided the said area and arrested Bahadur with the yaba.
A case under Narcotics Control act was filed in this connection.  The arrested was sent to jail after producing before a court on Sunday morning, the OC added.
NATORE: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-1, in a drive, arrested two persons with 940 bottles of phensedyl from a truck at Baraigram Upazila here on Friday.
The arrested are Babu Miah, 30, driver of the truck and son of Joynal Ali and Shah Alam, 27, helper of the truck and son of Aziz Mondal, of Bhabarob Village under Benapole Thana in Jessore District.
Senior ASP of RAB-1 Nazmul Hasan said the arrested had been smuggling phensedyl from Benapole to Dhaka for long. Getting such information, RAB-1 members waylaid the truck near a petrol pump at Royna area on Bonpara-Hatikumrul highway under Baraigram Upazila on Friday and arrested the two with the phensedyl.
Later, RAB handed over the arrested to Baraigram PS.
A case under Narcotics Control Act was filed with the PS in this connection.
