Flight attendants have a difficult job when looking after passengers in the air.

From rude travellers to dirty planes, they certainly have their work cut out.

Many passengers could be forgiven for thinking cabin crew are used to the difficult parts of a flight.

A flight attendant has revealed this isn’t the case.

Quora user Kelven Swords revealed that they still get travel sick just as much as other passengers.

He revealed: “They’re getting nauseous from the turbulence, too!”

Despite flying on a daily basis, they can still get sick during a rough plane journey like everyone else.

He also revealed that they “hate being confined with all the germs that passengers are coughing/sneezing into the cabin” as well, as one of the downsides of the job.

Of course, being able to travel for free around the world is always a great perk of the job.

Another secret they may not realise is that they don’t get paid until the doors of a plane are closed.

Swords continues: “They wonder when the heck this plane is going to take-off/land, too” as they are often not paid whilst the flight is still grounded.

They can make their job slightly easier by doing this simple trick.

A flight attendant revealed that they often wait for passengers to fall asleep before serving food.

This then means they don’t have to serve as many meals, meaning less work and clean up.

A regular traveller wrote on Quora: “Some sources reveal that flight attendants sometimes wait for passengers to fall asleep before starting to serve meals. 

“This is done to reduce the work load.”
