A tiger pelt and about eight kilogrammes of tiger bones were seized from two persons near the Nepal border in Udham Singh Nagar district on Sunday. According to information provided by official, in a joint operation conducted by the staff of Terai east forest division and the special operation group of the police, two persons were arrested in the Khatima range.
The duo has been identified as 28 year old Baburam, a resident of Kamlapur village in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh and Lokram, aged 45 years, a resident of Dhaka village in Lakhimpur Kheri district. The tiger pelt seized from the duo measured 2.48 metres while the tiger bones weighed 8.3 kilogrammes, informed official sources.
