So Christmas 2017 will soon be just a distant memory, after it seemed like we waited an eternity for it to arrive!
The good news is though that there's not long to wait to crack open the chocolate eggs and before long they'll all have been devoured and we'll be looking ahead to the next bank holiday and some more time off work.
If you are very much a like to get things planned in advance person, you'll no doubt want to know when Easter is going to fall in 2018. It's EARLY!
Here are the dates....
When is Easter Bank Holiday 2018?
The key dates you need to know for Easter weekend 2018 are:
- Good Friday - Friday, March 30
- Easter Sunday - Sunday, April 1 (yes April Fools Day!)
Easter Monday - Monday, April 2
Why does the date of Easter change every year?
Easter does not have a fixed date, unlike other Christian feast days like Christmas Day.
Instead, the Easter feast is based on the lunar calendar. So Easter is scheduled to fall on the Sunday that follows the full moon that happens on or after March 21, also known as the Spring Equinox.
So in Western Christianity, Easter will always fall between March 22 and April 25.
This year, it's at the earlier end of the scale.
