Drug dealer killed in Feni 'gunfight'

A suspected drug dealer was killed in a 'gunfight' with  members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Sadar upazila of Feni district early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Anwar Hossain Manik, Feni RAB-7 captain Safayet Jamin Fahim said.

On secret information that a group of drug dealers were staying in Dharmapuri area, on the outskirts of Feni town, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in the area, he said.

Sensing presence of the team, the drug peddlers opened fire on RAB members, forcing them to fire back that triggered a gun-battle.

Later, Anwar Hossain was found dead at the spot, the RAB official added. 

The RAB official also said there are 10 cases on various charges, including murder, rape and drug against Anwar.
