AMMAN —AlGhad— The activist group 'Lawyers against the Gas Agreement filed an appeal request today, Sunday, with the Supreme Administrative Court, seeking to annul the First Administrative Court's decision to dismiss a previous appeal filed by the group, against the Minister of Energy's refusal to disclose the Israeli gas agreement. Some months ago, theMinister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Saleh Kharabsheh, had rejected Muayad Majali's request to obtain a copy of the agreement.
In response to the Minister' refusal, the group filed an appeal with the First Administrative Court, which was dismissed by the Court.
Majali, the group's leading legal researcher, then hired Islam Harhash to represent the group and file an appeal against the First Court's dismissal of the previous appeal.Earlier, the National Electricity Power Company (NEPCO) and Noble Energy signed an agreement to supply Jordan with Israeli natural gas from the Leviathan fields.
The Lawyers against the Gas Agreement group is comprised of Zaki Haddadin, Hala Ahed, Islam Harhashi, Leen Khayat, Laila Ata, Sanaa Ashqar, Amr Abu Nazzal and Asmaa Hamshari.MENAFN3112201700720000ID1096294976
