PEORIA — Residents of a South Peoria neighborhood as well as a snow plow driver heard several shots fired early Saturday morning but police found no evidence.
A ShotSpotter alert for six rounds brought police to the intersection of Warren and Garden streets. There they found a plow driver who said he saw a dark-colored vehicle drive out of the area after the shots were heard. He said the car slowed as if people inside were shooting at something in the 1100 block of South Matthew Street before driving off.
A witness in the area said she heard the shots but saw nothing. Another person said she saw a dark-colored vehicle drive past her house on Matthew, and then after the shots, back up and then drive off on another street.
Police found no evidence of damage, victims or shell casings. No arrests were made.
