A 30-year-old man was shot at inside a pub in South Delhi’s Greater Kailash area following an argument apparently over parking space on Saturday night. However, police said that they have not been able to establish the exact reason as to what led to the firing inside the pub.
Confirming the incident, Romil Baaniya, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) said, “A PCR call was received at GK police station regarding firing inside a pub Rich Bratz 17 in the area of M Block Greater Kailash 1 market. By the time, a team from the police station reached the spot, Vinay Bhati was taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre. He has sustained a bullet injury near his collarbone.”
In light of the incident, the DCP added that they will write to the Licensing Unit to cancel the pub’s license.
As per preliminary investigation, based on CCTV footage and statements from the injured, Umesh was caught by the people inside the pub and he too was rushed for treatment to the Trauma Center.
Baaniya said, “Vinay is out of danger and has been shifted to ward. As per his version, the incident took place inside the pub RB17.
We are analyzing the CCTV footage to ascertain the exact time of the incident.” The officer said, “We have decided to write to the Licensing Unit for cancellation of license of RB 17 bar. Allowing antisocial elements enter into the bar is a violation of license terms and conditions.
