Dr Kamal himself was elected unopposed in 1973

Awami League presidium member Dr Abdur Razzaque yesterday said Gonoforum President Dr Kamal Hossain became a parliament member in 1973 unopposed but he did not say anything against it then.

Razzaque said Dr Kamal now speaks against the January 5, 2014 national elections.

“Dr Kamal recently claimed that the present parliament is illegal and unopposed winning of 154 MPs was unlawful,” he said, referring to the Gonoforum chief's recent speech regarding the current parliament and election of lawmakers.

If his membership in parliament became valid after the unopposed election, why memberships of 154 MPs would not be valid, Dr Razzaque questioned.

He was addressing a “victory procession” in Mymensingh, organised by Bangabandhu Parishad, Mymensingh unit.
