A large number of visitors were in the Corbett national park to celebrate New Year on Sunday. The Corbett deputy director Amit Verma said that the foreigner guests staying in six special suites also participated enthusiastically in the celebration on new year’s eve at Dhiklala.
The Corbett deputy director further informed that the Dhikala, Dhela, Bijrani and Jhirna zones of the national park are fully packed with tourists.
On Sunday, tourists went for jungle safari in about 190 jeeps. Further, he said that 50 rooms in Corbett had also been booked for night stay.
Meanwhile, the rise in the number of tourists arriving here created traffic congestion at Ramnagar. Such was the crowd of tourists that vehicles had to crawl across the Kosi barrage bridge due to the traffic congestion.
Though the police did their bit to clear the congestion and regulate the traffic, the congestion caused considerable inconvenience to both the visitors and the local residents.
