Movement of trains got affected for about six hours on Sunday due to a traffic-cum-power block on both Up and Dn line between Kantadih and Urma stations of Chandil- Adra section of Adra railway division. The block began at 10.10 am and continued till 4.10 pm for launching of limited Height Subway which replaced a unmanned level crossing between Kantadih and Urma stations.
The Tatanagar-Asansol MEMU Passenger was short terminated at Barabhum railway station. Similarly, the Asansol-Tatanagar MEMU Passenger was also short terminated at Purulia.
The Tatanagar-Dhanbad Subarnarekha Express and Tatanagar-Jammu Tawi Express were rescheduled at Tatanagar. The Tatanagar-Dhanbad Subarnarekha Express left the originating station at 3 pm instead of 1.20 pm today. The Tatanagar-Jammu Tawi Express left Tatanagar station at 4.50 pm instead of its schedule departure time of 2.50 pm. The Tatanagar-Hatia Passenger ran on a diverted route via Chandil and Muri instead of Chandil, Purulia, Kotshila and Muri.
Located on the Howrah-Mumbai main route Tatanagar is an important station. Several important trains travel via Tatanagar, including the high-profile Rajdhani Express and Duronto Express.
The station sees a daily traffic of 90 mail, express and passenger trains, besides a footfall of more than 60,000 passengers.
