SHARJAH: Al Zahra Hospital Sharjah welcomed its first New Year baby at 12.03am on Jan.1, 2018. The New Year Eve festivities were extra special for the Sudanese couple who prepared the whole day to welcome 2018 with a healthy new baby girl in their arms weighing 3kg.

The overjoyed father Ali Shaker quoted, “It’s an incredible feeling and I would like to thank God for the safe delivery of our child. I’m happy the baby was born at Al Zahra Hospital, Sharjah due to the attention and excellent medical care provided by the staff. Having our baby at this time of the year has made this New Year extremely special for us.”

Dr Rizmee Shireen, Consultant - Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Al Zahra Hospital Sharjah, delivered the newborn. She said, “The arrival of the baby on this occasion has not only brought happiness and joy to the family but also to us at the hospital. Both baby and mother are in good health.”
