The two-day conference of the All Odisha Lawyers’ Association (AOLA) concluded here on Saturday.
Cooperation, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Surjya Narayana Patro gracing as chief guest said around 50 new JMFC courts would be opened in the State within a year. The State Government is making all efforts to ensure that legal services are provided to people at their doorsteps, he added.
Kolkata High Court’s former Chief Justice Basudev Panigrahi, Supreme Court senior lawyer Sudhanshu Sekhar Das, senior lawyer Dr Sudhanshu Pati, association secretary Pravat Kumar Mohapatra, VP Rajendra Pradhan, Susanta Kumar Barada, Prabhakar Rout, Odisha State Bar Council member Deepak Patnaik and Bishnu Mohana were present.
Association president Sisir Padhy demanded setting up of Brahmapur High Court bench.
A proposal was passed to the convention in Nayagarh in 2018, informed Nayagarh lawyers’ Association president Amiya Patnaik. Association spokesperson Karunakar Panigrahi gave vote of thanks.
