Antonio Conte tried to sign the Brazilian left-back in the summer but was unable to get a deal over the line before the transfer window closed.

United have also put Sandro on their wish list as they look to invest in a new defender, according to the Mirror.

Juventus has reportedly told the 26-year-old he would have to wait until the end of the season to make a move away from the Serie A club.

But as they have now stepped up their interest in Wendell, Sandro could be allowed to leave this January if the Turin club receive the right offer.

Sandro has made five assists in his 19 appearances in all competitions for Juventus this season.

Chelsea have Marcos Alonso as their current left wing-back but Sandro would add depth to Antonio Conte’s side.

And with Luke Shaw failing to convince Jose Mourinho, the Special One could well use the 26-year-old as his first-choice in that position.

Chelsea are also looking at Porto left-back Alex Telles.

And Tottenham left-back Danny Rose is still thought to be the top target of Manchester United boss Mourinho.

The Red Devils return to action later today when they travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton in the Premier League.
