Letter: Change, though needed, never seems to come

Regarding the story "Cops’ domestic case uninvestigated?" [Nov. 18], I immediately thought of the saying, "The more things change, the more they stay the same."

While the facts of this situation are serious enough, there is also the issue of city officials withholding documents from the newspaper and attempting to sweep it under the rug.

City officials know very well that they can get away with sweeping things under the rug because they have done it so well on so many other things.

And they know this incredibly ineffective City Commission will keep their heads buried in the sand and do nothing to any official in order to make it look like everything is just wonderful.

Like I said, the more things change, the more they stay the same.
