Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Sunday urged the people to resolve to build Punjab as a frontrunner State through inclusive growth so that the fruits of development percolate to the grassroots level, especially to ameliorate the lot of the poorest of the poor.
Capt Amarinder in his message on the New Year eve also extended his greetings to the people in Punjab and Punjabis across the globe.
He hoped that 2018 would usher in a new era of growth and development for Punjab. He also exhorted the people of Punjab to work zealously and ensure development and progress. Capt Amarinder reaffirmed his government's commitment to propel the state on the path of growth, besides cementing the bonds of communal harmony, peace, amity and brotherhood. Meanwhile, Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore also extended his greetings to the people of Punjab and Chandigarh on the New Year eve, along with Punjab Vidhan Sabha speaker Rana KP Singh, and Punjab Power Minister Rana Gurjit Singh.
The Governor, in his greetings, said that the dawn of a new year is always welcomed with renewed hope and aspirations, which could only be fulfilled by working together with zeal, determination and dedication.
Extending his greetings and best wishes to people of Punjab and all Punjabis living abroad on the eve of New Year 2018, the Speaker said that New Year would bring happiness, peace and success for all Punjabis. “Let us dedicate ourselves to work for the progress and prosperity of Punjab,” he added. Rana Gurjit also exhorted the people to unite in building Punjab of our dreams.
