Burnley have the chance to move level with Tottenham on points when they host Liverpool at Turf Moor this afternoon.

The Clarets have defied all expectation to find themselves rubbing shoulders with the league’s top six and are now in reach of European football.

They take on a Liverpool side that is unbeaten in 15 games across all competitions and which currently sits in fourth on 41 points.

James Tarkowski is available for selection for Sean Dyche after serving a three-match suspension while fitness doubts hang over Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who limped off in the side’s 2-1 win over Leicester.

What time does it start?

The game kicks off at 15:00 on Monday 1 January at Turf Moor

Where can I watch it?

The game won’t be broadcast on TV. Highlights will be shown on Match of the Day which airs at 22:45 on Tuesday 2 January.

It’s a big game for…

Burnley’s centre-backs. Whether Dyche opts to bring Tarkowski back into the line-up remains unclear, there’s no doubt Burnley’s backline will have their hands full this afternoon. With the likes of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane to consider, it’ll be a long 90 minutes for whoever Dyche puts his faith in.

Player to watch…

Roberto Firmino. The lively Brazilian has impressed in recent weeks, scoring four goals and providing two assists in his last four games. Firmino has now been involved in more goals than any other Liverpool player since the start of the 2015/16 season, scoring 28 goals and creating 18. Often overlooked due to the form of Coutinho and Salah, Firmino’s work rate and ability to create space for his teammates is finally receiving the recognition it deserves.
