Making the optimum use of it, the industry has seen a rising trend in the biopic department, and the year of 2018 only brings more of them. Pad Man

Akshay Kumar starrer Pad Man is a biopic inspired by the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social activist from Tamil Nadu who invented the first low-cost sanitary pads in India. The film will also star Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in lead roles.
Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi

Starring Kangana Ranaut, the film will be an epic portrayal of warrior princess Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi.The film is based on the life of Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi and her war against the British East India Company, during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
Super 30

Based on the life of a Patna-based mathematician, Anand Kumar, who runs the famed Super 30 program for IIT aspirants in Patna. And portraying this math genius will be Hrithik Roshan. He is even getting special coaching for the role from Anand Kumar himself.
Salute

The biopic of the man who was the first Indian to go out in space was set to be essayed by Aamir Khan earlier. However, though Aamir backed out, colleague Shah Rukh Khan could be seen slotting for him. Priyanka Chopra was finalised for the role of Aamir’s wife in the film.
Saheb

The biopic of the socio-political activist, Balasaheb Thackeray, which was recently announced. And the character is set to be portrayed by none other than Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film will be made among his close relatives and family members chiefly.
Sanjay Dutt biopic

Easily one of the most looked forward to biopics, the Sanjay Dutt biopic is one to take the theatres by storm for sure. With Baba’s close friend Rajkumar Hirani helming it, and Ranbir Kapoor essaying the role, it is sure to be a cracker.
Saina Nehwal biopic

Trained by Saina Nehwal herself, Shraddha Kapoor is all set to portray the character in her biopic. The actress has been training relentlessly on the Badminton courts, and it will be another exciting sports film on the list.
PV Sindhu

Telling the story of another Badminton ace, PV Sindhu, and her story of climbing up the ladder to win the silver medal at the Olympics for India.
Abhinav Bindra biopic

Taking up the responsibility of essaying the role of India’s gold medallist shooter, Abhinav Bindra, will be Anil Kapoor’s son Harshvardhan Kapoor. The film will follow Bindra’s biography and will even see Bindra make an appearance in his own film.
The Accidental Prime Minister

Anupam Kher is all set to essay the role of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in his biopic which is an adaptation of Sanjay Baru’s controversial book ‘The Accidental Prime Minister: The Making and Unmaking of Manmohan Singh.‘
