Three armed robberies in Sussex Friday night

Incidents occurred in Georgetown, Seaford, Bridgeville.

Delaware State Police are investigating robberies that occurred in the Georgetown, Seaford, and Bridgeville areas the evening of Friday, Dec.  29. 

The first incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Merganser Road in Sand Hill Acres in Georgetown. Three male suspects in a vehicle approached the victim as he was riding his bike home. All three suspects exited the vehicle and two of them searched the victim's pockets while the other displayed a handgun. They took possession of the victim's cell phone before fleeing in the vehicle, which was only described as dark in color. The victim was not injured as a result of this incident.

The second incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at a residence located in the 25000 block of Covert Street in Mobile Gardens in Seaford. Two suspects approached another victim while he was outside of his residence, one of which displayed a handgun and demanded the victim turn over his wallet and cell phone. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in an unknown make and model vehicle. The victim was not injured in the incident.

The suspect who displayed the handgun was described as a Hispanic male, about 5 feet 7 inches or 5 feet 8 inches tall and 145 pounds with short facial hair. He was wearing a dark-colored sweater.  The second suspect was wearing a mask over his face and was described as a male, about 5 five three inches tall and 150 pounds. He was also wearing a dark-colored sweater.

The third incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. at a residence located in the 8000 block of Cannon Road in Bridgeville. Four suspects arrived in a vehicle at the residence and again made contact with the victim while he was outside. One of the suspects exited the vehicle, displayed a handgun and demanded the victim turn over his wallet. One of the three suspects that remained in the vehicle also displayed a handgun. The victim complied and turned over his wallet. The four suspects then fled northbound on Cannon Road in the vehicle, which was described as dark-colored with four-doors and a long hood.

The victim, who was also uninjured, could only describe two suspects as having short hair.
