Teacher dies in road mishap

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — A teacher died while her husband was injured when their car slammed into a tree in Samal, Bataan before dawn yesterday.

Gloria Garcia, 40, of Samal High School died at the scene while her husband Joey was taken to the Bataan General Hospital in Balanga City for treatment.

The crash site was located two meters away from the Sta. Lucia Subdivision where the couple resides.

The accident occurred at past 1 a.m. and roused residents of a nearby community.

Meanwhile, in Pangasinan, a 70-year-old farmer died when he was hit by a motorcycle in Mangatarem town on Saturday.

Norberto Dalag died while being treated at the Sto. Niño General Hospital in Camiling, Tarlac.

Dalag was crossing the road in Barangay Malabobo when he was hit by a motorcycle driven by Dennis Pillos, 31.
