BBC Dhaka chief's mother passes away

Syeda Rawshan Ara, mother of BBC Dhaka office chief Waliur Rahman Miraz, died of old age complications on Monday.

She breathed her last at the house of Miraz at Segunbaghicha in Dhaka at 1:30pm at the age of 72.

She left behind her nine children and many grandchildren to mourn her death.

She is also the mother-in-law of the daily Observer (online section) joint news editor Lubna Yasmin.

Syeda Rawshan Ara will be buried at his family graveyard in Jhalakathi sadar upazila on Tuesday.

Prime Minister’s media adviser and the daily Observer editor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extended his condolence and sympathy to the bereaved family.
