PM urges businesses to find new market

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged entrepreneurs to find out new markets worldwide aiming at expanding business and commerce of local products.

The premier said this at the capital's Bangabandhu International Conference Centre while inaugurating the 23rd Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) on Monday.

Mentioning that Bangladesh is now role model of South Asia in socioeconomic development, Sheikh Hasina emphasized creating new products for more earnings through export.

The Prime Minister also said the DITF-2018 would help create opportunity in product diversification and at the same time generate a growing interest among local entrepreneurs to improve the quality of their products and make them efficient actors.

A total of 589 foreign and local organisations are taking part in this year's fair.

The fair venue comprises of 112 big pavilions, 77 mini pavilions and 400 stalls under various categories.

Apart from local participants, some 43 foreign business establishments from 17 countries will display their products in the fair.

The countries are :India, Pakistan, China, the United States, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Malaysia, Iran, Thailand, Turkey, Singapore, Mauritius, Vietnam, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Hong Kong.
