Happy New Year! Stunning London Eye fireworks welcomes Britain into 2018
THE LONDON Eye erupted into a stunning display of colour as fireworks shot out from the iconic structure and brought in the 2018 New Year for Britons.

After Big Ben struck midnight stunning reds, blues and greens sparkled in the night sky as revellers enjoyed the festivities along the banks of the River Thames.
The London Mayor Sadiq Khan described the display as the city's biggest ever, lasting around 12 minutes before revellers broke out into a traditional rendition of Auld Lang Syne.
Meanwhile audience watching on BBC live stream will continue to party with more music follwing the fireworks.
Earlier The BBC said: “London’s famous firework display will be choreographed to fit a specially edited medley of music.
“The celebrations along the Thames will end with a traditional rendition of Auld Lang Syne, before the action switches back inside as Nile and CHIC continue the party with a raft of hits including Good Times, Le Freak and Everybody Dance.”
Guy Freeman, editor special events for the BBC, promised that tonight’s jubilations will have Britons up and downs the country “boogieing” all night long.
He said: “I am over the moon that Nile and CHIC will be heading up our New Year’s Eve celebrations.

“With a host of timeless disco party classics on their setlist, I am sure that living rooms up and down the land will be boogieing along until the wee small hours!”
The New Year has already been brought in across the rest of Europe and stunning firework displays also welcomed the New Year for Dubai, Hong Kong and Sydney, Australia – where the iconic Harbour Bridge erupted in a burst of colour.

Around 1.6 million spectators gathered in Sydney Harbour to witness one of the most stunning pyrotechnic shows in the world at 1pm UK GMT on Sunday (midnight on Monday local time).
