The Tristate does not lack for high school football talent. Here’s a look at some of the area’s top prospects and how they fared during this weekend.
10. Winton Woods junior Greg Tribble scored a team-high 19 points in the Warriors' 70-51 loss to Princeton, Saturday.
9. Lakota West's Jasmine Ballew scored 14 points, grabbed five rebounds and recorded four steals in the Firebirds' 53-48 win against McAuley, Friday evening as West extended its winning-streak to nine games.
8. Kings sophomore Kelsey Schmidt is more known for her prowess on the softball field, she's committed to Auburn, but she had a big day on the court Thursday night scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in a 58-51 win against McNicholas.
7. Campbell Couny junior forward Reid Jolly recorded a double-double in the Camels' 65-44 win against Anderson County, Thursday. Jolly finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds in the victory. He also had a team-high six assists.
6. Chris'seon Stringer returned to the lineup for Taft Saturday night against Woodward. The junior guard scored 20 points and grabbed added nine rebounds in the Senators' 59-49 win.
5. Simon Kenton senior Shelby Harmeyer scored 22 points in the Pioneers’ 64-19 win against Madisonville-North Hopkins. The Campbellsville University commit also added five rebounds and five assists in the win.
4. Princeton senior guard Darweshi Hunter scored 24 points during the Vikings’ 64-50 victory against Middletown, Wednesday. Hunter also added three assists, three steals and two rebounds in the victory. The Vikings are 7-0 on the season.
3. Williamsburg senior heavyweight wrestler Brian Stears claimed the Greater Miami Valley Wrestling Association Holiday tournament, Thursday. Stears won the championship match with a 6-2 decision against Centerville's Jacob Charette.
2. Abba Lawal scored 17 points and snagged 11 rebounds during Withrow’s 61-57 victory against Plymouth (Mich.) at the Motor City Roundball Classic in Detroit, Thursday. It was the 6-foot-11 senior center’s first double-double of the year.
1. Jasmine Hale had a huge night against Daniel Boone (TN) on Wednesday evening, accounting for 18 points, eight rebounds and nine assists in the Wolves’ 65-55 victory. Hale, a Wisconsin commit, is averaging 13.3 points.
